ChargePoint has just unveiled a new “Express” version of its now fairly common electric vehicle (EV) charging station platform, according to a recent press statement sent to EV Obsession.
The new offering joins the company’s substantial family of offerings, which include: ChargePoint Home, ChargePoint Multi-family Service, and ChargePoint Commercial — and now, ChargePoint Express as well.
The new offering — ChargePoint Express 100 — is a 24 kilowatt (kW) output charging station that provides up to 100 miles of range per hour of charging according to the company.
The idea behind the new charging station design is to allow for EG charging infrastructure to be located at more locations (restaurants, retail stores, etc) than it is now without requiring unattractive upfront costs.
“With Express charging, drivers can run errands, shop or stop for a cup of coffee while they quickly top off their battery to extend their car’s range,” stated Pasquale Romano, ChargePoint’s CEO. “ChargePoint Express giving drivers range confidence so they can depend on an EV as their only vehicle.”

Earlier this year, ChargePoint announced the Express 200, a 50 kW output DC fast charger with a maximum charging rate of 200 RPH.
With its compact design and state-of-the-art power conversion electronics, the Express 100 is one of the lowest cost DC fast chargers available. The station is designed to isolate critical electronic components from the outside environment, increasing reliability and performance, and with remote diagnostic capabilities, the ChargePoint Support team instantly detect problems thereby reducing down time.
